Road works signProposed works on William Street in Listowel will now not begin until after the Listowel Races.

Construction works will continue from the 19th of September to the 3rd of December where all works including road pavement works are expected to be substantially complete.

Following on from the Listowel Municipal District meeting last Monday it was agreed that the works would not begin until after the race meeting as this was a concern to the businesses in the town.

Some survey works will take place during August but this should have a minimum effect on traffic.
Works are planned for Convent Cross which forms part of the work programme for Listowel Municipal District.

These works will now be completed by end of August before school reopens and will not clash with the works on William Street.

Independent TD Michael Healy Rae praised Kerry County Council Engineers for their understanding in delaying the project until after the Annual September race meeting.
