« BackWest Limerick greenway group urges State to manage route

A group behind a campaign to extend the greenway in west Limerick to Tralee and Fenit will cease managing the route when their licence with CIE ends.

For over 25 years, the Great Southern Trail group has maintained the 40-kilometre route but says it’s time for a local authority to take over its management.
The committee has promoted the extension of the greenway through west Limerick to Tralee and Fenit. Chairman Liam O’Mahony said it is time for a local council and the State to step in and manage the walking and cycling route.
