Waterville’s attempt to enter the Guinness Book of Records for the most people dressed as Charlie Chaplin was hampered by the All-Ireland semi final.
A total of 151 people, including seven-week-old Liam O’ Shea, gathered in the south Kerry seaside village yesterday for the attempt.
The world record of 250 was set in Los Angeles.
But the All-Ireland semi final kept some people away, including Mick O’Dwyer, a huge supporter of the Charlie Chaplin Comedy Film Festival.
Committee member and local councillor Norma Moriarty said organisers were delighted with the turnout and the success of the four-day event.
