An organiser of today’s water charges protest in Dublin says the protests will continue as long as the charges exist.
Kevin Murphy of Right 2 Water Kerry says the charges are unfair, and despite the current suspension on the fees, he and his group will continue to protest until the charges are abolished.
Mr Murphy was one of the thousands of people who today marched from Connolly and Heuston stations to St Stephen’s Green to voice their opposition to the charges.
He believes a referendum is needed to put the provision of water back into public hands.
Meanwhile, protesters also voiced their displeasure over the government’s decision to appeal the EU Commission’s ruling on the Apple tax debacle.
Kevin Murphy says the government’s decision to support the appeal is a kick in the face to the working person.
