« BackWalkers from all over Munster taking part in Kerry Way cancer walk

Walkers from all over Munster are completing the Kerry Way this weekend for cancer research.

Photo: Don MacMonagle   Now in its 10th year the Kerry Way Cancer Research Walk is a fundraising event that has gone from strength to strength contributing over €600,000 to Cork Cancer Research Centre helping researchers to translate lab discoveries into new cancer treatment opportunities for poor prognosis and incurable cancers. The three day walk along the scenic Kerry Way takes walkers from Caherdaniel, along the Kenmare River and finishing in the Killarney area on Sunday. The 98 walkers are due to arrive back in Killarney on Sunday afternoon, having completed the 200km route over three days.

This is the 10th walk that’s taking place over the Kerry Way for Breakthrough Cancer Research.

To date, it has raised over €600,000 for charity.
