A 33-year-old victim of an alleged assault in Newcastle West remains in an induced coma in a critical condition in hospital.
21-year-old James Corbett of Sharwood Estate, Newcastle West is charged with assault causing harm to the victim from Mountcollins on the 24th of August last.
A further adjournment in the case was sought by gardaí so a file can be prepared for the DPP and the extent of the victim’s injuries can be determined.
He remains in an induced coma at Cork University Hospital with serious head injuries.
Judge Mary Larkin remanded the accused on continuing bail to Newcastle West District Court on the 6th of October.
