Valentia Observatory has reported its wettest September in ten years.
Rainfall at Valentia Observatory was 46% above the normal range with a monthly total 187.7 milimetres reported.
Similar conditions were reported in Cork Airport – which also had its wettest September in ten years – with a monthly total of 136.3 milimetres, 44% above the norm.
Newport in Mayo saw the highest rainfall today last month (205.2 mm) with Dublin Airport reporting the lowest rainfall (56.6 mm).
According to Met Éireann most parts of the country reported their mildest September in nine or 10 years, with temperatures on average 1 degree higher than the norm.
