Two Tralee men broke into the Aquadome for a ‘late night’ swim and then went for a sleep in a hotel bedroom, the district court heard.
Eric O’Shea of 17 Loharcannon in Tralee, and his co-accused Conor Walsh of Ballinorrig South are accused of four counts of burglary.
They were remanded on continuing bail to appear before Tralee District Court again on October 7th.
Solictor for Conor Walsh, Pat Mann told Tralee District Court this wasn’t a “blatant burglary”.
Mr Mann said they had gone for a “late night swim” in the Aquadome and then went for a sleep in one of the rooms of the Brandon Hotel. 21-year-old Conor Walsh is accused of entering the Aquadome as a trespasser with the intent of committing theft on June 22nd, June 23rd and June 24th.
He’s accused of the same offence at the Brandon Hotel on June 24th.
His co-accused, 20-year-old Eric O’Shea, faces similar charges.
In reply to the charges, Mr O’Shea said: “I’m sorry, I was drunk.”
Judge James O’Connor placed both men on curfew between 10pm and 9am.
He remanded them on bail to appear before the court again on October 7th.
