Fishing netsTwo Kerry businesses are to benefit from government capital investment funds.

Caragh Clams Ltd and Bio Atlantis Ltd will both receive grants from the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund.

Caragh Clams Ltd will receive a grant of €14,000, while Bio Atlantis Ltd is to receive €247,000.

Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed, says these investments will deliver jobs to coastal communities, develop new value added seafood products, find new markets and increase sales of Irish seafood products.

The grants are part of a €4.3 million investment in 51 seafood enterprises nationwide.
