Valentia Coastguard co-ordinated the rescue of two fishermen off the coast of west Cork this morning after their boat sank.
The alarm was raised at quarter to 5 this morning when the pair reported their 10 metre Irish registered vessel was taking on water near Dursey Island and they were deploying life rafts.
The Shannon Coastguard Helicopter and Castletownbere Lifeboat were tasked to the scene.
At 6 o’clock the two men were found on a life raft; both were safe and well.
The naval vessel the LE Orla is currently at the scene carrying out pollution and salvage operations.
