There are 12 people on trolleys at University Hospital, Kerry today.
That’s according to the Irish Nurses’ and Midwives’ Organisation which compiles daily figures on those waiting for hospital beds.
The HSE doesn’t dispute these figures.
Nationally, there are 456 people waiting for hospital beds.
Meanwhile, Cork University Hospital has brought in visitor restrictions due to a large volume of Norovirus infections.
The restrictions are in place with the exception of those visiting critically ill patients and children.
People are asked to contact the inpatient ward in advance if they have loved ones who are patients at CUH.
