Kerry motorists driving to Cork are regularly stuck in traffic in Macroom for half an hour.
That’s according to a Tralee woman who’s spearheading a campaign to build a bypass through the mid-Cork town.Siobhan O’Brien is currently driving from Tralee to Cork three times a week, to bring an ill relative to CUH.
She says that 90 percent of the time, she’s stuck in Macroom for up to half an hour.
Ms O’Brien has begun an online petition, asking Tranport Minister Paschal Donohoe to prioritise a bypass for the town.
She particularly wants Kerry people to sign it, given that increasing numbers of Kerry patients are now travelling to CUH for treatment.
Being stuck in traffic when rushing to meet a hospital appointment, is incredibly frustrating, she says:
