« BackTralee school grabs Radio Kerry’s attention to win €5,000

Moyderwell National School, Tralee has been named the overall winners of €5,000 in a competition to mark Radio Kerry’s 25th birthday.

On this day in 1990 the station began broadcasting from studios in Tralee and Killarney.

Since then Radio Kerry has been named Local Station of the Year at the PPI National Radio Awards on a record four occasions.

Meanwhile, students and staff at Moyderwell National School, Tralee are celebrating after they managed to grab Radio Kerry’s attention to win €5,000.

The school recorded a video around the county with a song using the popular hit Cheerleader and getting   #RadioKerry trending around the world.

The competition was in association with Tralee, Killorglin and Castleisland Credit Union.

Teachers Eoin Sayers and Denis Griffin were behind the video involving second and fifth class students.
