In a sell-out event in front of twelve hundred musical theatre aficionados in the INEC, Killarney, the Association of Irish Musical Societies announced the winners of their annual musical theatre awards.
Tralee Musical Society were among the big winners last night.
They were runners up in the category of Best programme and won awards for Best Actor with Gary Murphy, Best Stage Manager, Des Hurley and Laura Lee Murphy was runner up in the category of Best Actress.
They also secured a second place in the Overall show category for their production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Beautiful Game.
The CEO of Bon Secours Hospital Tralee, who are the lead sponsor of Tralee Musical Society, Paul Foley, expressed congratulations to the group for achieving so much success and said that Tralee Musical Society plays an important role in the community.
