A Tralee Councillor is calling for a joint approach to cleaning up the court house and the area surrounding it.
Fianna Fáil Cllr Norma Foley who describes the building as iconic says Kerry County Council, the Court Service and Gardaí should work together to improve the almost 200 year old structure to make it more aesthetically pleasing.
Yesterday, speaking at the first sitting of Tralee District Court, this year Judge James O Connor described the court as the most awkward court he attends.
He also said it was filthy with fag butts and coffee cups everywhere.
In 2006 wheelchair access to Tralee court house was promised within two years, however it remains absent.
