A Tralee business owner has commended the efforts of the Gardaí following an attempted robbery last Friday night.
Louis Byrne, owner of Spar Oakpark, praised the rapid response of Tralee Gardaí and the quick action of his staff after a man – wearing a balaclava – entered the premises brandishing a knife and demanding money.
Two staff members raised the alarm and alerted Gardai – the man fled the scene empty handed.
A man was later arrested by Tralee Gardaí.
Mr Byrne said the Gardaí’s swift action brought the situation under control quickly without loss or injury, adding that he was indebted to them for their assistance.
