Three students from the Institute of Technology, Tralee have been named All Ireland winners at the Spark National Social Enterprise Awards.
The awards provide a platform and funding for innovative business start-up ideas.
Elaine Brew from Ballyduff, Mary Shanahan and Geraldine O’Mahoney from Lixnaw developed an idea for a restaurant and crèche training facility for refugee women, and those in direct provision.
The group and their mentors were presented with their award by social justice campaigner Fr Peter McVerry.
