Thousands of people took part in the ‘Darkness into Light’ fundraiser across the county in the early hours of this morning.
Beginning at 4.15am, the event saw participants run or walk across the line as dawn broke.
Nationally 120 thousand people took part in the event, which is celebrating its eighth year, and is organised by suicide and self-harm prevention charity, Pieta House.
The fundraising walks in Kerry took place in Tralee, Caherciveen, Killarney, Dingle, and Listowel.
It’s been a huge success over the past number of years, with thousands of people taking part in the county.
In Caherciveen the walk was started by Kerry football legend Maurice Fitzgerald and the beginning of the walk was marked by individuals giving each other a hug.
These people took part in the Darkness into light in Tralee, who were partaking in the event for the first time.
