The comments come as a new tourism strategy for Kerry is launched, outlining 272 actions to boost visitor numbers to the county.

Currently, the majority of tourists come to Kerry between May and October and efforts are underway to extend that season including for business and domestic tourists.

Chief Executive of Kerry County Council Moira Murrell says everyone has a role to play in the new Tourism Strategy and applications for funding have already been made.
