A north Kerry woman has been honoured by the Heritage Council for her efforts to promote the heritage of her area.
Ursula Leslie of Tarbert House was named the inaugural Heritage Hero Award which was timed to coincide with National Heritage Week.
Ursula and he late husband, John Leslie, opened up the parklands around Tarbert House for public access twenty years ago and the park is now home to a woodland walk.
She was also worked closely with local heritage projects like the Lartigue Railway Museum, St John’s Arts Centre and the Tarbert Bridewell Heritage Centre.
Ursula Leslie was nominated for the award by the Tarbert Development Association.
