« BackTarbert school receives Concern’s ‘Best School’ award

The chief executive of Concern, Dominic McSorley, was in Tarbert today to say thank you to students who have raised almost €200,000 for the charity.

Tarbert Comprehensive School received the ‘Best School’ award in the Concern Volunteer Awards, following a 30-year association with the charity.

In that time, staff, students and parents have raised almost €200,000 (€199,310) and visited Concern’s development works in Tanzania.

Tarbert Comprehensive School is among the top five schools in the country in terms of its fundraising efforts for Concern.

Mr McSorley said efforts like those of the pupils at the school and their teacher, Bríd Carroll, are vital to helping Concern continue its work in 27 countries.
