Tánaiste and Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald is visiting Kerry today, as a keynote speaker at an international women’s business conference taking place in Tralee.
The Tánaiste delivered the opening address to delegates at the Brandon Hotel this morning.
This is the second annual hosting of the event in Tralee and this year’s event features a number of high profile speakers including former Rose of Tralee Dr Aoibhín Ní Shuilleabháin and broadcaster Mary Kennedy.
Ms Fitzgerald said the hosting of this conference, in conjunction with the Rose Festival, provides an important networking opportunity for women in business.
She said the success of past Rose of Tralee participants in business in subsequent years bears testament to the importance of the festival.
