A Kerry deputy principal says teachers don’t want to send away exam papers in mock exams as correcting in certain subjects may not be up to standard.
A random sample of Kerry secondary schools by Kerry Today revealed the cost of running Junior Certificate mock exams can range from €20 to €120.
The lower costs were for schools that gave an option for the examination papers to be corrected in-house.
Deputy Principal of Killorglin Community College Donal O’Reilly says the costs in their school is supplemented and cost depends on the number of exams sat by individual students.
