Kerry County Council is advising people – and property owners in particular – to take precautions ahead of a Status Orange wind warning which has been issued for Kerry tonight.
Storm Imogen is expected to bring gusts of up to 120km/h from 2 o’clock tomorrow through to 9am.
Met Eireann is also forecasting waves up of up to 15m in height in coastal areas between midnight tonight and noon tomorrow.
Kerry County Council is asking that property vulnerable to high winds such as loose signage and hoarding as well as wheelie bins be secured this evening.
They are also asking motorists to take care on the county’s roads tomorrow morning as there may be fallen branches or debris on the roads.
Kerry County Council crews will be closely monitoring the situation and will deal with any issues that arise.
