A double amputee, whose postal address is in Cork but lives in Kerry, deserves equality of care from the State whether she lives in “Baile Bhuirne or Ballydesmond”.
That’s according to Independent Alliance Cllr Michael Gleeson who highlighted the woman’s plight at a meeting of Kerry County Council.
It’s claimed the woman was told she only qualifies for 11 hours enhanced home-care because she lives half a kilometre on Kerry side of the county bounds.
This allocation would have been 23 hours if she was deemed to have lived in Cork.
