« BackSlight increase in garda numbers in Kerry

Crest of Garda Representative Association GRAThe body which represents rank-and-file gardaí says there’s been an increase in the numbers serving in the force in Kerry since the start of the year.

The Garda Representative Association says there’s been an increase of nearly 5 per cent in the numbers of gardaí  of all ranks working in Kerry between March and this month.

On March 1st, there were 295 gardaí in the county; on November 11th, this figure stood at 304.

However, this still represents an 11 per cent drop in the numbers of officers that were in Kerry five years ago, when this figure stood at 342.
