A Skellig boatman says this year’s season has been very successfully thanks to the publicity from Star Wars.
Two films in the global hit series are set on the UNESCO World Heritage site.
This has led to an increase in demand from visitors wanting to see the monastic island.
This year’s season, which is determined by the OPW, has now closed with no more landing permitted until next year.
Boatman Joe Roddy said most boats managed about 100 landings each during the 2016 season.
