A six year strategy has been agreed for the Kerry Joint Policing Committee.
The group is made up of Gardaí, Kerry County Councillors, Oireachtas members and community interests.
The new Chief Superintendent for the Division, David Sheahan also attended yesterday’s meeting.
This new strategy includes a steering group and several committees covering areas such as road safety and burglaries.
Chair of the Kerry JPC Cllr Niall Kelleher says it is important that local communities have a relationship with Gardaí.
