« BackSinn Féin MEP claims link between super-trawlers and dolphin stranding

Ireland South MEP Líadh Ní Ríada is seeking a meeting at the EU Commission with regards the amount of dolphin standing on the west and south-west coast.

DolphinAccording to the Irish Whale and Dolphin group, these strandings are becoming more frequent with 28 recorded so far this year.

The Sinn Féin MEP has described the situation as “quite alarming”, “unacceptable” adding that more regulation is necessary.
