That’s according to the latest list of tax defaulters, published today by the Revenue Commissioners.
One hundred and one individuals and businesses from across the country made settlements totalling over €17 million between April and June.
The highest was made by retired company director James Farrell of Oldcastle Road, Kells, Co Meath, who paid €1.4 million.
Singer Sinead O’Connor also made a settlement for €160,000.
In Kerry, seven companies and individuals made settlements with Revenue for a total of €1.45 million in Revenue audit cases.
The largest amount was by PJ Gaynor, a groundworks subcontractor of Leith West, Tralee; he paid €421,000 for underdeclaration of income tax.
James Keane, a retired building contractor of Springwater Lane, Caherweesheen, Tralee settled with Revenue for €378,000 for underdeclaration of income tax and VAT.
MRSL Ltd., industrial refrigeration contractors of Park House, Park Road, Killarney made a settlement of almost €266,000 for underdeclaration of PAYE and PRSI.
Retired farmer John Patrick O’Connor of Ballymore Upper, Ventry paid over €134,000 for underdeclaration of capital gains tax.
Primary Electrical Ltd., an electrical contractor and second hand car dealer, of Lios Na Greine, Lissivigeen, Killarney settled for €103,000 for underdeclaration of VAT.
Property developers Donal and Mary Cronin of Spunkane, Waterville made a settlement of €92,000 for underdeclaration of VAT.
Sean Murphy, a company director of Flintfield, Faha, Killarney paid over €54,000 for underdeclaration of income tax.
