« BackSecond car found in Cork City’s River Lee

A second car has been discovered in the River Lee in Cork City today.

Valentia Coast Guard told Radio Kerry News the second car is believed to contain an occupant, thought to be a man.

At 5.50am, a cyclist saw a car enter the water near Lee Rowing Club.

Valentia Coast Guard tasked Crosshaven Coast Guard and Lifeboat, Waterford Rescue Helicopter 117 and Hallbowline Naval Divers to the scene.

Shannon HelicopterThe search teams located the vehicle upside down under the water earlier but there was no one inside.

During attempts to recover the car from the water, a second vehicle was discovered, containing an occupant thought to be male.

The recovery and search operation is continuing.
