Authorities have confirmed that a man who was reported missing last Thursday in Fenit has been spotted on CCTV.
The footage examined today has confirmed that the Ethopian crewman was seen boarding a train from Tralee to Cork last Friday morning.
A search operation had been launched earlier following fears for the man’s safety.
The search coordinated by Valentia Coast Guard was stood down earlier today.
The man who is an Ethiopian national in his thirties was part of the crew on a cargo ship that was in Fenit port last Thursday. He, along with two others, went ashore to go to a local bar in Fenit.
However, the man did not return with the group.The cargo ship has since left port.
There were fears that the man might have fallen into water and the search operation was launched. Tralee gardaí say the man is alive and well, according to the CCTV footage, and their investigation has also been stood down.
