The level of access to social networking sites by our young people must be addressed.
That’s according to Fine Gael MEP Sean Kelly is opposed to any moves to allow children under the age of 13 access Facebook.
Sean Kelly is also co-author of the European Parliament’s data protection report on Facebook, which recommends increased privacy settings, and better transparency for users.
His comments come following the suicide of 13 year old Erin Gallagher.
The Donegal teenager took her own life after she was cyberbullied.
