Kerry MEP Seán Kelly is hosting the fourth annual EU Dojo coding workshop in the European Parliament in Brussels today.
It’s being held in conjunction with CoderDojo, to coincide with EU Code Week; CoderDojo was founded by James Whelton and entrepreneur Bill Liao in Cork in 2011.
The EU Dojo event today will see young CoderDojo members, including those from Ireland, teach MEPs and policymakers how to write computer code.
The aim is to raise awareness of the non-profit organisation’s free network of coding clubs for young people.
There are now over 1,000 Coderdojo clubs in 65 countries, 750 of those clubs are Europe-based.
