« BackRose of Tralee stalwart Margaret Dwyer dies age 97

The death has taken place of Margaret Dwyer, one of the people originally responsible for setting up the Rose of Tralee festival.
Mrs Dwyer, who was 97 and originally from the United States, became the first Lady President of the Festival of Kerry, as it was known, back in 1970.
Among those who’ve paid tribute to her this morning was Anthony O’Gara, Executive Chair of the Rose of Tralee International Festival, who said her contribution to the event was immense.
She is survived by her sons Ryle and Sean.
