A charitable donation made by Irish golfer Rory McIlroy is set to benefit eight children in Kerry.
The Irish golfer donated €317,000 to the Jack & Jill Foundation to fund 19,813 hours of home nursing care for 281 sick children nationwide.
Eight children in Kerry are set to receive 564 hours between them as a result of the donation.
In total, a whopping €951,000 donation from Rory McIlroy was split three ways for children’s charities – Barretstown, LauraLynn Children’s Hospice and the Jack & Jill Children’s Foundation.
According to Jonathan Irwin, CEO of Jack & Jill, “This gift of time from Rory McIlroy will make a huge difference to families, locally and nationally.”
McIlroy is also supporting the ‘Up the Hill for Jack & Jill’ campaign which runs in September, asking people to fundraise and climb a hill to fund home nursing care.
