« BackRetired judge Carroll Moran to lead inquiry into Olympic ticketing affair

 Judge Carroll MoranFormer High Court judge Mr. Justice Carroll Moran has been appointed to lead the non-statutory inquiry into the Olympics ticket controversy.

Mr. Justice Moran presided over the Circuit Court in Tralee from 2007 to 2014.

The scope of his Olympics investigation will go as far back as the 2012 Games but he can look beyond that if he so wishes.

Opposition leaders have criticised the format of the inquiry because it lacks the power to compel people to co-operate.

But Minister for Sport Shane Ross says he’s happy with this course of action and will consider a full commission of inquiry if needed:
