A project to restore the exterior railings at St Mary’s Church of Ireland on Main Street, Killarney is being launched today.
The restoration will cost in the region of €130,000 and the work will start in January and is expected to be completed before St Patrick’s Day.
St Mary’s, which is also known as the Church of the Sloes, dates back to 1871.
The project is supported by the Killarney Chamber of Tourism & Commerce, Killarney Looking Good and the Church of Ireland community.
Parishioner Andrew Eadie says the wider Killarney community has also been supportive.
