« BackReplica of Rossbeigh Strand Tower to be unveiled in Glenbeigh tonight

Rossbeigh TowerA replica of Rossbeigh Strand Tower is to be unveiled in Glenbeigh tonight.

The original tower which acted as a beacon for safe navigation of Castlemaine harbour collapsed in 2011.

It was located at the northern end of Rossbeigh spit for over 160 years.

Local volunteers gathered the ruins which were then used in the replica that now stands outside the GAA grounds in Glenbeigh.

The unveiling takes place tonight at 8.30pm and will be followed by a fireworks display.
