Renua Ireland hopes to run candidates at the next Kerry County Council elections in 2018.
In February’s General Election, the party’s lost its three Dáil seats, including the seat held by then party leader Lucinda Creighton.
The new leader, Offaly councillor John Leahy is in Kerry today as part of his efforts to rebuild the party, which has no representation in Dáil Éireann.
He says he hopes Renua will have candidates at the next local elections.
He wants Donal Corcoran from Tralee who ran in the last General Election to also stand.
Cllr Leahy says tax reform remains a key part of his party’s agenda.
