There are record numbers of whale and dolphin sightings in our waters, according to the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group.
The organisation is currently celebrating 25 years since Ireland was declared a whale and dolphin sanctuary by the Taoiseach of the time Charles Haughey.
The Irish Whale and Dolphin Group is taking its yacht, the Celtic Mist on a three-month tour to celebrate the anniversary.
The tour started in Fenit in May and is travelling around the coastline visiting communities, and will be back again in Fenit at the end of July, where the Celtic Mist will remain as Fenit will be its home port.
Acting CEO of the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group Simon Berrow is encouraging people to visit the vessel, and says conditions are currently ideal for sightings of the mammals.
