« BackRecord rainfall average recorded in Kerry last month

meteireannRainfall in Kerry for the month of April was up 8% on previous years, figures from Met Eireann reveal.

Valentia Observatory recorded a level of 108% rainfall, a rise from the average of the previous 29 years.

Rainfall across the country varied, with Dublin Airport receiving the highest increase for the month.

Keeping in line with the rest of the country, average air temperatures were down at the South Kerry weather station, with a recorded drop of 0.9 of one degree Celsius.

In terms of number of hours of sunshine, Valentia Observatory received above the national average with a total of 162 hours.
