« BackPublic meeting about new community responder scheme for Tralee

A public meeting is taking place tonight about a new community responder scheme for Tralee.

Ardfert First Responders

The scheme will see local trained volunteers attending 999 calls in tandem with the ambulance service. The Tralee scheme will join those already established in Ardfert, Abbeydorney, Ballyheigue and Killarney. A community responder will attend 999 calls for stroke, chest pain, choking and cardiac arrest. The trained members will be activated via a pager system from ambulance control. Anyone interested in getting involved as a fundraiser or responder is invited to attend tonight’s meeting at 7.30 in The Brandon Hotel. Further information is available on www.traleeresponders.com

The First Responder Group in Killarney went live with the National Ambulance Service in August and to date has attended 36 emergency call outs in the Killarney area.
