Pro-choice activists ‘knicker-bombed’ Tralee Court House in campaign to repeal the Eighth Amendment of the Constitution.
Knickers 4 Choice hung undergarments on a washing line by the Court House on Saturday to highlight what they perceive as the government’s failure to legislate access to legal abortion in Ireland.
The group says the underwear is symbolic of how pregnant women’s rights to bodily and personal autonomy is being ignored. Knickers with pro-choice slogans have been strategically placed by the ‘knicker-bombers’ in public places across Ireland and Britain in a co-ordinated effort.
The group has created a hashtag #knickers4choice to highlight the issue.
