Power has been restored to around two thousand ESB customers in West Kerry, following a fault on the line this morning.
The power cut coincided with a planned outage in the Milltown area that affected a further 46 customers.
There had been consternation in the area, especially from business owners, who said they had not been not been given notice of the outage.
However, a spokesman for the ESB confirmed these customers had not been affected by the planned outage and the fault had since been repaired.
He added that notification of the planned outage is in effect until 5pm this evening but it is hoped power will be restored sooner
