« BackPickard’s son confident Gardai will bring investigation to satisfactory conclusion

Charles Brooke PickardCharles Brooke Pickard’s son says he is confident that the Gardai will bring the investigation into his missing father to a satisfactory conclusion. 

Crohan Pickard was speaking following the news that Gardaí have ended the dig of an area where they were searching for Mr Pickard who disappeared from Castlecove in April 1991.  

A witness reported seeing Mr Pickard being bundled into a van at the time he disappeared.

The van was later found burned out but there was no evidence to help in locating Mr Pickard.

Extensive searches involving army and Garda personnel have taken place in Derrennageeha, Ballaghisheen near Waterville over the last few weeks.

The operation was put in place following a recent television appeal for new information. 

The search ended yesterday evening without Mr Pickard’s body being found.
