People in Kerry are waiting 11 weeks to receive free legal aid.

That’s according to figures that the Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald revealed in the Dáil.

They show that people are waiting between three and 30 weeks for a first consultation at Legal Aid Board law centres across the country.

At the centre in Tralee, the average wait for a first consultation for legal aid is 11 weeks.
