People Before Profit KerryPeople Before Profit in Kerry say the Government is ‘snubbing’ 13 billion euro from the Apple tax ruling in order to save face with multinationals rather than putting it into vital public services.

The group were in Tralee over the weekend asking the public to sign a petition for the Government to accept the ruling.

Earlier this week the European Commission found Apple’s tax deal with Ireland is illegal and ordered the tech giant to pay 13 billion euro –  plus interest – in back taxes.

The Dáil will be recalled on Wednesday to rubber stamp the Cabinet’s decision to appeal the ruling.
