People are being asked to go to their GP first, if possible, as the Emergency Department at University Hospital Kerry is particularly busy.

The hospital is reporting increased levels of activity, and management is advising that non-urgent patients may experience significant delays.
They’re asking that, where appropriate, people contact their GP first and explore all other options before attending the Emergency Department, if their needs aren’t urgent.

Figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there are seven people on trolleys at UHK today; last week there were large numbers waiting with 11 there on Tuesday.
