Parents of residents at St Mary of the Angels in Beaufort are calling for an immediate suspenson of a plan to move their loved ones from the campus and want a meeting with the HSE and St John of God services.
St John of God Kerry Services said it’s undertaking the move as part of this HSE policy of ‘decongregation’ of residents into the wider community and that it will work with concerned parents.
Jack Fitzpatrick, whose son has lived at St Mary of the Angels since he was five, it’s not that parents fear community living, they fear community isolation.
Dolly Lawlor’s son has lived at St Mary of the Angels for 35 years.
